Kara-Leah Gonty is a Registered Social and Worker and Canadian Certified Counsellor with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree and Master of Education degree. Her therapeutic style is eclectic using a client-centered, strengths-based approach rooted in positive psychology. Kara-Leah uses methods that ensure clients feel empowered and in control of the counselling process. She believes clients should focus on making client-centered decisions.

Kara-Leah is enthusiastic about supporting clients when navigating the challenges of relationships, parenting, family, separation, and divorce. Her experience as a school counsellor has given her insight and understanding of adolescent behaviours, thoughts, and feelings. She uses that acquired knowledge to help parents and caregivers navigate the sometimes-turbulent journey of parenting adolescents.

Kara-Leah has a strong interest in sexual expansion and empowerment, affirming sexual expression, identity, and orientation, increasing intimacy, and enhancing trust and sexual satisfaction through communication and exploration. She is in the Sexual Health Certificate Program at the University of Michigan and working toward certification as a Sex Therapist with the Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT).
